Updates - Recovery and Physical Therapy
Hey all, just a quick update - Have progressed to doing squats (extremely sore! In a good way though) and heel raises throughout the day pain free which is awesome - Pre-surgery those could simply not be done without the compartment syndrome high pressures stopping me ... tightness in the calf is abating more and more every day - This Monday I start bike and massage and I'll post how it feels....

Thank you for this informative blog. I was wondering how your progress has been recently. I have horrible calf pain now from soccer which is leading towards excruitiatng shin pain as well. I play soccer competitively and I can't have my d1 college potentials be hindered by cs. I am currently looking into finding a doctor now which is actually quite difficult. If anyone has suggestions for Chicago-- please fill me in.

No problem Tom! Your comment brings up a good point. Since Compartment Syndrome is still a relatively rarely diagnosed ailment, people with symptoms often do not know where to begin. I'll create a post where people who have had positive experiences with compartment syndrome surgery/care can post their doctors and maybe we can compile some sort of list.
ReplyDeleteHow are your calfs holding up after the surgery now....and what preventative measures are you taking to prevent this again.
